Niki Colclough
Niki’s practice explores a sense of belonging, in the physical and the abstract. Her work is often collaborative, routed in the real, leaping into the imaginary. Current research includes youth culture and alternative pedagogy, knowledge as power.
Niki is based in Manchester, and works both nationally and internationally. She has presented work at CFCCA, Caustic Coastal, Gallery II (Bradford University) and is the current Creator in Residence at the National Memorial Arboretum. She has undertaken several international artist residencies including 501 Art Space, Chongqing (China) and most recently at Matadero Madrid (Spain); and is current member of the Islington Mill Art Academy, an artist-led, alternative art school based at Islington Mill in Salford.
